Bionic shipping with gingerbread or froyo?

Like I said i've seen it other places too. I look at tech articles all day long so I don't remember where all I saw it. That was just one of the places. I would think it would stand to reason that the next version of Android would support dual core since so many dual core phones are about to come out. That's just me thinking logically though...

im no expert

From what I read qand seen for the dualcore we did indeed need gingerbread. The Nexus S is out and runing smooth. I rooted my friends and hooked him up with all the dark widgets from this D1 forum.

Well, one site has a rumor, so I guess it must true...

So now that all of these phones are being said to ship with 2.4 and that all of the changes are under the hood do you still think that there's no dual core support?

Really? I thought the Bionic was shipping with 2.2 upgradable to 2.3.

It is, but I was talking about all these phones announced at MWC. Just trying to make my point that support will probably be coming before Honeycomb. Honeycomb isn't even coming to handsets from what I understand. At Schmidt's keynote he said that Gingerbread is for phones, Honeycomb is for tablets, and the next version of Android which will start with an I will tie them both together. Guess some rumors do pan out huh...

Kinda depressing that Motorola ships a new set with an older OS than the newest ROM available for a handset that is EOL.

i dont exactly understand what motorola is thinking. why would they ship it with froyo knowing that it doesnt support dual core.
