After the unsurprising news that the AT&T version of the Samsung Galaxy S4 would ship with a locked bootloader, it was easy to assume the same would be true for all the American carriers. Luckily, if this newest rumor is true, there will be at least one alternative which will come from the factory unlocked. The latest intel suggests that the Sprint version of the SGS4 will actually come with an unlocked bootloader.
We are reaching out to sources now to see if we can confirm this and will get back to you as soon as we know something concrete. In the mean-time we can extrapolate the following list:
- AT&T SGS4 = Bootloader Locked
- Sprint SGS4 = Bootloader UNLOCKED
- Verizon SGS4 = Bootloader Locked (This hasn't been confirmed but you can probably bet your farm on it being the case.)
- T-Mobile SGS4 = [UPDATE] Bootloader UNLOCKED (confirmed by Matt Groff - @mattlgroff on twitter)
