Battery wont charge!

I was charging my battery and noticed that it was on 80% for a while. Checked back a half hour later and it was still on 80%. I then tried to restore a backup and the battery stayed at 60%. Anyone know why this is happening and what I can do to fix this?

When you are trying to charge your droid are you using the wall charger that came with your droid or a replacement?

Also, is the little white light next to the charger port on your phone turning on when you plug your phone in???

The other problem could be the kernel you are using. I have seen some kernels basically not recognize the battery at all.
