Battery life seems WORSE than Razr MAXX, and takes forever to charge

Just posting now about the battery life, even though I've had the phone for about 2 months now. The Razr MAXX lasted me all day with heavy use. This phone lasts me half of that. I have to have it in the charger all the time. About a month ago, I was actually skeptical it was even a MAXX and had to go to the 'about phone' to verify. I turn my brightness down low, have autosync off, GPS off, etc. Nothing seems to help. Don't remember doing any crazy customization on the Razr MAXX, but this is bad.

As to the latter point, it only started recently. My phone was nigh dead when I plugged it in last night right before falling asleep. After 6-7 hours of sleep it's at 93%. Woah!

Here is the latest battery life. I can't understand why it's being kept awake for so long.

Are you using the stock charger and cable that came with the phone? My phone charges in about 5 hours, IIRC (I haven't run it down very low all that often.)

You have 20% left after 43 hours? That's pretty darned good, really.

If you are using Active Display and Touchless Controls, the phone is kept awake with those processes. Active display is flashing notifications every few seconds when the phone is out of your pocket and touchless controls, if you've set it up, is always listening for "OK Google Now". Also, if you are using the Assist app with driving functions, the phone is trying to figure out of you are driving somewhere. Even though the phone is awake for these processes, the processors for these functions are run at very low power.

I will say, though, that since KitKat my phone is definitely burning battery a lot faster. I hope the next OTA helps with that.

I've got everything off. But yes that's good life. But I'm just concerned with the kernel running so much since the update.

My battery used to last all day and into the next day, now it barely lasts 12 hours w/ any type of use....this battery drain started after the last update as well....
