I wasn't sure how it would turn out either, but I really like it. It didn't catch my eye once today with a "WTF? My watch is different!" kinda subconscious reaction like I thought it might. Forgot I even changed it until I really looked at it.

Thanks all. I don't know of any way to see bdays. Just joking about that. But yea, wife bought me that band.
I think I found the solution for wearing in hot weather: this band. Its super light. I really like it.
Pics when I get it put on.
I can't figure out how to open it.

Love! It's SO light. Feels MUCH lighter then the metal one I replaced.

Had a scratch on the metal piece before I even put the thing on, though. Durable I am guessing, this metal piece will not be. It's stainless steel, 316L, but it has a slightly brushed look to it which is where I think it will get a bit scuffed. The band shouldn't scratch at all, unlike my last one.
