Are you considering the Motorola Shadow?

Have they finally decided to start calling this the droid2.0? I've heard sites say it def is and def isn't... not sure what to believe. But if anyone has seen the benchmark thread on howardforums showing the shadow you have to wonder if it was on 2.1 or 2.2.

considering it was just under a 2.2 nexus with it's massive speed increase with the update it really makes you kinda get excited to hope that it was running 2.1 and to see what that beast will do on 2.2, especially if it gets modded and overclocked at all.
Me also lol, gizmodo got me really confused. Now they're saying this is the droid shadow, and the droid 2 will be the droid 2 xtreme. They're also saying the droid 2 won't be better spec'd than the shadow. They say that the shadow will have 16 gigs of internal mem while the droid 2 will only have 2. So I dunno anymore lol.

This looks like a nice phone, but I'm very happy to stick with my Droid. There aren't any phones coming in the near future that would make me reconsider that position.

No. Put simply unless the device is sporting an OMAP 44xx, Cortex A-9 based SoC I see no need to upgrade from my Droid. Slightly larger screens and HDMI out does not justify the switch from a device which is rock solid, rooted and highly customizable as well as having the ability to overclock.

I'm waiting on the DROID 2 and DROID pro then I will compare them with the DROID shadow/extreme and make my decision. Until then I'm going with the original dancedroid.

^Me either. HTC has done some stuff recently to make me wonder what they're thinking over there, especially about the processors they put in the Inc and the EVO 4G. America's first 4G phone deserved a better processor.

Even tho I'm not really sold on the Snapdragon too, HTC coulda chose a better Snapdragon for the EVO 4G.

lol, srry I was trying to respond to this:

Ekk can't edit lol, also what has me a little worried is the news of Motorola locking their bootloader (or whatever its called) as far as I know I don't think milestone owners can flash Roms yet (not sure though) and future devices might be in the same situation. So I dunno lol.

This worried me too, but I guess we have to wait and see what happens.

Xda is huge but I'm still not sold on htc.

Whatevers around in Dec 2011 lol ;) Who knows, may just want to keep my droid..

Lol its funny how the incredible is already getting old...

If verizon had a promotion where original droid users could upgrade to the shadow, i would definatly upgrade. Since my upgrade is up in January, i'll have to wait :)

My Moto Droid upgrade is not until 7/2011. I have 2 other lines that can upgrade this year, August and November. I really love my Droid. If the newer phones do not offer much along the lines of what the EVO is offering thne i will wait til next year. Verizon and LTE is going to be remarkable and I am sure the phones then will be as stellar.

If the Droid gets Froyo before then, I may wait even longer.

At this time, I would first like to have answers to 2 questions:
1) Specs for both Moto devices
2) Specs for iPhone

I argee with 1) and about 2) even if/when the iPhone comes to Verizon, I will not be getting it. A minor issue for many I am sure, but something about the fact that there is no removable memory and that you can't even change your own battery bothers me.

I voted maybe because by the time I am ready for an upgrade something new will probably be out. I believe I will be made even more happy that I am now when 2.2 is released, so I won't upgrade early.

My personal yet humble opinion. They are coming out with too many phones too fast. A lot of people wont like the idea of buying a phone and a month later it is the "old" model. They need to get a handle on this I am afraid or this craze wont last long. I love my Moto Droid but it seems the market seems to be getting saturated with Android phones. As soon as one comes out, its the "old" phone because the next best one is already being talked about.
