Just figured out tether fix download 2.0 tether eclair fix from this site and replace existing ther apk. the rename your ssid you should find it in your network connections. I had to click the repair network connection on computer then it was connected. Here is the link i found Downloads - android-wifi-tether - Project Hosting on Google Code
so exactly what am i suppose to do? download the file and then what?

To start new thread, click forum up top of this page, find the proper "subject" like apps or general discusions or off topic or in this case it would be hack i believe. click on that then you should see a start new thread tab..

alright now i can play with this wifi thing just finished my paper for today, ima try it

and i'm assuming a fix is going to consist of deleting a file like maybe a apk file and then downloading a new one and replacing it. So if that's the case please imform me exactly where the file is to be deleted and where to put new one. Yes, sorry i know..i really do need step by step instructions like this. thanks

I clicked the link from my doid then i intalled the 2.0 tether patck apk. after it completed the download it tapped it and selected application loader i believe it was called then it asked did i want to replace the existing tether i said yes. next the program asked did i want to reset settings i said yes. I then opened the tether app and went into setup i changed the ssid to my name. Next went to my laptop and viewed network connection and clicked the network that just named. It then connected to the network and i am currently using it.

Super noob here... forgive my ignorance, but after I rooted and installed sholes 1.2, is there a way to recover my old apps? Everything was wiped during the installation. First time doing this, so I didn't know what to expect.

the apps you downloaded from the market should reinstall themselves after you boot up( sometimes it takes a little while). but if you do other things to get apps which wont be discussed here, then no, you cant get them back. hope this helps if you were still curious:)

Just to be clear..When it asked you if you want to reset your setting you "said yes" you clicked yes? Cause the question was do you want to restore it to original settings or something like that.
