[ROM] [AOSP][4.0.4][CDMA] Gummy 1.2.0 - 5/9/12 [BETA]

How long should the boot anim be displayed after a fresh flash? Probably been staring at it for 10 minutes.

Shouldn't take that long. Pull the battery and put back in then press your home button and hold it in then your power button and also hold that in till you see a triangle on the screen then press both volume buttons in at the same time to get in stock recovery. Next select wipe data/factory reset then when its done reboot system. Use your volume buttons to scroll and power button to select.

Weird. Working now thanks to your input, sir!

Had to hide in the backroom with a finger over the speaker so I wouldn't disturb anyone here at work, god that noise.. lol

No I don't =/ doesn't do it with dx/2/g (or atleast no one has reported it and I've never had it happen on my d2g). If someone can grab a log of it and pastebin it then post the link ill see if I can find anything. Really hard to fix something I can't replicate without logs though.

Any idea on fixing the screen not turning off (even if the light sensor is covered) while in call?

What tools do i need in case you need us dump you the log?
Thanks, please give up the good work.

your rom is really good

Yeah, one of the first things I did was revert to the old boot animation and disable the sound. I know they are looking for a new boot animation (over the old gummy one, I doubt the nyan cat was intended to be permanent), but I actually really like the old one. It is simple, loads quick, and is effective. I just pulled the bootanimaion.zip from the old install zip.

That sounds like permissions. Was busy playing the Diablo 3 beta this weekend and didnt mess with anything android. I'll look and see if I notice anything between mine and JC's init's that stands out.

for logs, either adb with a computer or alogcat from the market.

Well damn am I fickle today! Back on Gummy, fully installed without issues thanks very much to Savagerun. Appreciate your help earlier, no doubt! Beautiful. Battery plummeted but allowed it to and charging it back to 100% right now. Nice looking rom and no complaints so far. Using GoSMS too.

Unfortunately I ran into a few detrimental problems that forced me to SBF back to GB. They are common issues I found when using Gummy and CM9. Many times while using the default Browser and Dolphin Browser HD, loading pages would hang and stop loading. Trying to overcome this, I installed Opera Mini and just received a black screen when opening the app (though I'm not sure if that's the app or not.) When playing music, it would often skip while browsing the web and loading pages. At one point, the OS froze and my phone rebooted. The battery drain is also pretty rough compared to even stock GB, which I'll be using from now on (rooted). If any solutions arise I'll be glad to try Gummy again though!

I had stock browser issues as well (would not load pages) and one scary moment when my phone froze while on the lock screen (couldn't unlock phone, battery pull reset fine) I installed Firefox and have not had any browser issues yet. I'm not giving up yet. This ROM is all that.

Thanks 13th Angel for still putting effort in our old but lovely phone, loved your old clean and stable roms b.t.w.!

Somehow I encounter some trouble with the rom, I constant receive the message "The process rom.phone.android has been stopped". The steps I did were:

1. Install 4.6.8 sbf with rsdlite
2. Root with "DROID 3 easy root script v7"
3. Install Droid 2 Recovery Bootstrap v1.0.0.5.apk
4. Wipe data/cache, dalvik cache
5. Install Gummy_venus2-Release-1.0.0
6. Install gapps-ics-20120317-signed

I use b.t.w. a GSM sim and also already did several recoveries for wiping the (dalvik) cache and repairing permissions. Any idea what I am doing wrong? Thanks!

Right after i dial *#*#4634#*#* what is the phone suppose to do? Cause mine does nothing :/

After the 1.0.1 update the combination does indeed seems to be broken. Normally you should see some sort of servicemenu in which you should follow dettefato instructions (see post #6). I tried it a couple of times but never saw the menu on v1.0.1, I did see however in a glimpse the following message "wrong mimo code". Could it bee that the code has been changed after the update?

Manolo, you could update to 1.0.0 and follow dettefatos instruction and afterwards update to 1.0.1..

*#*#4636#*#* not *#*#4634#*#* !!!!

Sometimes my data go away... Not the data but the synchronization...
Anyone?

For enabling gsm on ics...

Are u using GSM like me?
Here is what I did, unplug the sim card.
Turn on the phone with Gammy, change the network mode to WCDMA & GSM auto. Turn off, plug in the sim card again.
Turn on, here u go!
