Any way to stop getting the same email twice?

When I get a email, i recieve a notification on my gmail app then a few seconds later the same email comes through on the email app as well. Is there any way to eliminate this?

There's a good chance you may have set up the Gmail account in the native email app and ​the Gmail app. Delete it from the email app and the duplication will go away.
