Any reason to get a different DROID phone over the DROID X ???

Hold one in your hand before you buy...they are Huge...The Droid 2 is Fast..and almost a Droid one with more memory and faster processor. The Droid one is a great phone but with 8 times more memory and a better processor...It is on my next phone list. The X is cool..but you better have Big hands..and a way to carry it..

I guess the Fascinate is just too new for most on this forum...hit up xda forums and you can see some testimonials...the best hardware in all aspects is to the Fascinate...aside from screen size...X is alil bit bigger...but the Super AMOLED is amazing on the Fascinate.

I heard that the samsung doesnt have a notification led, is this true?

That is a true statement unfortunately...but there is a workaround app that just uses tiny parts of your screen as a notification led...honestly i just tap the unlock key to check for messages.

Go with something with a keyboard.
There are too many apps, that you might just want, where the on screen
keyboard takes up too much room or is too sluggish (such as gaming).

Hell, even simple things like adding in new contacts or calendar appointments
is a pain with just the on screen keyboard. Sliding out the keyboard lets
you see things much better.

Further, you can type far faster and easier if you like to text msg or blog
a lot with a separate keyboard.

Lastly, the built in Dpad the keyboards have is indispensable in my mind.

This brings out a good point for use who are getting ready to jump to the Android system.
I'm assuming that when entering contacts, calander appointments, texting, etc., the phone must be in the portrait position, so that there is a small keyboard on the bottom with the room at the top for the information.

Can you be in landscape when typing in this information or when typing in a URL in a browser?

I say you are assuming incorrectly. :)

The only time it needs to be in Portrait is in the home screen. Everything else you can go to landscape.

Is droid 2 better than the x becuase of the slide keyboard?

Well, for me I really use the virtual keyboard more. So why did I get the D2? Really it was because I wanted something in the Motorola family that had updated software so I could assist other people in the Droid Forums. I have no patience, so I wasn't waiting on the X and I did want a pull out keyboard for the times I do want to use it albeit rare.

Actually I'm using voice recognition a lot with the D2. I can't say that it works better then the original Droid but it seems to work well with me.

All are great phones, only 2 of them are actual Droids. I wanted to stay with a Droid. So D2 for me.

Coming from a droid 1 to X, i don't miss the keyboard one bit, and i use to swear by it. There's volume issues with sound being low, but i hear its fixed in 2.2. I'm still unrooted on 2.1 and the device is lightning fast. The 4.3 inch screen is money, seriously, i feel like anything less is just inferior, sorry 3.7 and 4. Long like the big screen.

Glad to see I was incorrect. I really like the X better than the Droid 2. Of course, by the time I jump, the first of Dec, there might be another model out there I like better.

so general opinion is that the X is better than the 2 because the slide keyboard on the 2 is not really that useful ???

MOst 2 owners don't bother use keyboard?

and X offers better battery, camera, HD video, and HDMI output ???

Well, what might not be useful to some is extremely useful to others. That's a personal decision, do you want a physical keyboard? Do you want a larger screen? Do you mind waiting? If not then the X may be for you.;)
