Any MAXX users try a GMS SIM card?

I'm looking to move away from Verizon and go with Straight Talk or Net10.

I spoke to Verizon tech support and was told the 4G phones are locked to the V CDMA network via the card, not anything on the phone, and that another company's SIM card should work. A Net10 SIM card costs 15 dollars to buy and the unlimited text, data and voice is 45 bucks a month.

Has anyone tried to use their GSM SIM card in a RAZR MAXX?

According to the net10 website, only AT&T and T-Mobile phones can be transferred. I'm hoping that isn't true. I have a Razr maxx HD and my wife has iPhone 4.
