Any CM10.2 users?

Just looking around to see if there are any CM10.2 users here. I haven't really done a whole lot with my phone, other than rooted it and installed other apps/launchers from the Play Store. I'm curious about what CM10.2 is and how well it functions. From what I understand, it is in the "Nightly" stage and the camera flash does not work, yet. I would not be able to get around that hurdle. If I installed CM10.2, would I still have the stock ROM on my phone or how does this work, exactly? Does it replace it? What is that app I see in videos where your phone boots up, you choose different boxes, which I assume are different launchers or custom ROMs?

I'm a n00b at this. Like some others, I'm getting frustrated with my MAXX's speed and just want it to run faster, but am not willing to give up the apps I use on my phone. Thought this might be a solution to the problem, but I have no clue.

If not here, can someone point me in the right direction (forum wise)?

Hi Josh,

I have been running CM2 since the new updates first came out and with just a few minor exceptions, I really love it! I'm pretty new to rooting and this was my first go at it and all has gone well.

I started out safe and ran the CM10.1 final builds then moved on the the RC builds and now I pretty much flash the "nightlies" at least once a week. Its a great process and I don't have to go through re-installing my aps each time. Do a couple cache wipes in safestrap, then let CM download and install the updates. Its that easy.

Some things I like.

Battery life has been great!
Overall response is very good... the phone seems MUCH faster.
I like the look and feel of it.
Seems like I have a "new" phone.
Its what the Maxx should have been from the start.
All of my regular apps work great with it.
Camera response is very fast!

Some things I don't like... but remember I'm running the unstable "nightlies".
Occasional app crashes - rare
Occasional slow downs - rare
Sometimes the camera freezes
Seems like data/signal is a bit lower than my stock ROM - but thats by looking at the "bars". Overall call quality and data speeds are still good.
Chrome seems MUCH slower - I think its a Chrome thing. C'mon Google.... why can't you make your own browser work better with your OS?!?!?!

I started a thread in the Razr Hacks and a few of the members here posted some very helpful info there. just look for my CM/safestrap thread there and you'll find lots of good stuff.

i install cm10.2 as second rom with SafeStrap and i install holo and adw launcher with no bug !
and for camera i change it with moto x camera

I don't even know what safestrap is, let alone what it does. m intrigued to learn more about this whole thing. Where would be the best place to get started? Is there a FAQ guide posted somewhere?

I'm using 10.1.2 latest stable and LOVING it. I get smooth operation, no bloat and apparently as much battery as I got with ICS. After going to JB my hand was forced due to battery issues. So much better....

Yes. You can still keep the stock ROM if you install CM. That is one of the things that SafeStrap does. You can install several ROMs and switch between them, backup/restore, etc.

I've been running 10.2 for a couple of weeks. There has been two occasions where data stopped working (and shows a blank triangle for the signal strength indicator) and I had to reboot the phone. Other than that, I have had no issues.

Look in the Razr Hacks subforum here on the site. Lots of good info there.

But here, this should get you started. :-) http://www.droidforums.net/forum/droid-razr-hacks/200942-safestrap-guide-razr.html

Seems like lots of old info here. I read somewhere that you had mentioned using mattlgroff's utility to install safestrap? How? I didn't see the option. Plus, when going to the site, I see a lot of different files. When I rooted my phone, I think I used the razerblade utility, separate from mattlgroff's WinMacLin tool.

I'm running the 10.2 Sept 10 nightly and it has been ROCK Solid. Speed is awesome, battery life has been stellar and data seems to be much better. Almost afraid to move up to another nightly.

That said, it is always a good idea to go into safestrap and wipe both caches before installing any updates.

cyanogen is best because support all language (persian) and very soon release new version

Don't see the Sept 10 download anymore, but there is a Sept 17 (today) download.

As an update, I've got Safestrap installed. However, I ended up missing a day because in playing with the Backup/Restore options, I accidentally restored my phone to the condition it was earlier in the day. Translation: I had to re-install a whole lot of updates I'd installed, and also re-sync my phone. Plus, my FiOS Internet was not cooperating with me last night. I was planning on going off the videos for the install, as I did with installing Safestrap.

I'm off to work in a bit, I'll try this later today/tomorrow depending on if my brain has any juice left tonight when I get home.

I am using todays nightly 9/27/13...it works great...before, I could not get wifi to work...now it seems all is working. I have not found anything (yet) that does not work. I was on 10.1 for a while due to the wifi issue and thought I'd try the 10.2 on todays build and it seems pretty stable so far. I guess we'll see.

LOL.. opposite for me. WiFi was working great up until one of the updates a few days ago. Tried subsequent nightlies and still no WiFi for me. Gets stuck on "turning on Radio". This time, rebooting does not solve the issue. It does work in my stock rom though so I know the radio is good.

Wow!! Go figure???? That is what mine did before I tried the 9/27 nightly. The only thing I am seeing is that sms are not sending (consistently). But I just saw that if I disable voice+ might fix the issue. I'll try it when I get a chance and report back for those who might have the same issue.

So far not a huge difference in 4.3jb over what I had. Are there some tricks I need to know about that it can do? I do like the predictive phone dialer, though. Pretty cool.
