Alert when in docking station but not charging?

This has happened to me a few times now and it's getting annoying. For some reasons, when I put my phone in the dock at night, I don't get it connected all the way and the phone does not charge during the night. Anyone know of a program that will sound some sort of alert if the phone has switched to dock mode, but is not charging? Or anyone know how to make such a program? I would be more than willing to pay for something like this as it's getting annoying to not have a phone all day while I'm away.

All you need to do is see if the battery icon shows it is charging...

Plus if it is in the dock and not charging the screen times out... if it is connected and charging the screen won't time out.

When I go to bed my wife is usually already asleep because of getting up at 6AM to get my son ready for school. Anyway, to be quiet, I lift up the multimedia dock in one hand and set the Droid in with the other. You can definitely tell when it's in the whole way. Like was already mentioned also, look for the charging indicator. I would never be able to see that because I don't see much w/o my bi-focals on lol.

Yeah, my problem with seeing the battery icon is that #1 it can only be seen for a second before the clock takes over the screen and #2 without my glasses it's hard to see. Yes, the screen times out, but my eyes are usually closed or I'm lying on my side so I don't see it time out.

I'm sitting here with mine in the dock and the notification bar is above the docking screen with the battery icon showing...
You must have the notification bar turned off or something.

Dunno....I haven't changed any settings. All I know is that when I put it in the charger, the screen switches to the dock mode where the clock takes up the whole screen.

When in dock mode just hit the little 'home' icon in the top left corner. It will take you back to the regular home screen where you can see the charging icon.

Once done just hit the 'home' softkey or 'back' and you'll go back to the docking station clock.

Yeah, I do that sometimes, but I forget sometimes too. All I want is a simple alert letting me know that it's not charging to make it easier and to cover my @$$ if I forget to double check that it is.
