4G LTE Speed on .905...

Pointless to try and compare 4G speeds. It depends on a few things:

a) which speed test app you use
b) which speed test server you are connected to
c) signal strength on your device
d) congestion on the tower you are connected to

Too many variables to make a comparison worthwhile, IMHO. I can test 6 times and have 6 totally different results. Some of the speed test servers won't even max out an LTE connection.

For example, I just tested with speedtest.net app connected to Washington, DC server hosted by speedtest.net

Got 9.6Mbps down/8Mbps up the first time (with 1 bar) - moved to the other side of my kitchen and got 14.5Mbps down and 9.5Mbps up just because it gained me another bar.

You do have a point. I see the Speedtest app like Bonneville. A nice flat track to get a top speed.. But in the real world it'll probably be way less, like on the LA freeway during rush hour. Using the System app, I was looking at my speeds while updating an app. Anywhere from nothing to 9Mbps at bursts.

I had low speeds yesterday.. but it was a hosted by a different site than normal. I'll have to check again. They were the slowest speeds I had had in a while . I'm on 905.

At home in my bedroom I would always consistently get at least 10mbps down and 10mbps up and I just tried six tests:

1. 5027kbps down 785kbps up
2. 4900kbps down 758kbps up
3. 7284kbps down 1649kbps up
4. 7114kbps down 1145kbps up
5. 2641kbps down 684kbps up
6. 5419kbps down 709kbps up

I hope to god this is some kind of fluke. And while we're at it I think my battery life took a hit today after the update but I hope I'm just imagining that :( I'm starting to think I may have made a mistake upgrading to 905.

5.10 mbps upload and 10.32 download. Significantly slower and with my normal provider and this is with speedtest.net. normally I'm 15-19 up and 7-12 down hmmmm what is going on?

my son's new maxx in the same spot in the house is 17.43 down and 7.24 up.... mine same time was 14.12 down and 6.98 up... ( different hosting site this time for my test)

Hmmmm.... as of this morning my wifi is actually faster than my 4G... i wish I had kept records of my speeds b4 the update but I didn't. Its just a little faster and I only ran one test on each but seems strange... Doesnt really matter cause all i do is read articles and a little youtube and phone calls of course. Sometimes play shadowgun. But all that works fine. I just like to know I have a good conn in case I need it for something.

Now i'm getting 10.78 down which is better.... maybe it needed to break in the update? Still would like just a little faster though.... my wifi was 9.something this morning.
