44% Android System use?!?!?!

Hi, this is what my Battery Use profiles says. I was just wondering if this was normal, I did just get this phone and so I've playing around with it a bit (downloaded 2 apps and just done some light web browsing) but haven't really done much with the phone so far.

I've been really paranoid about the battery use because this is my first droid and from reading other posts I haven't seen any other posts with this high of battery use from the Android system. Just wondering if anyone knew what's going on and if there's something I need to do...thanks

For heavy users get a second battery, easy fix. That way you will always have a spare ready to go.

Call it what you will, it will "fix" the issue all you battery slayers are crying about. Also, not too expensive either.... the battery that this phone comes with will never be what some want it to be.

I agree with that. The one fault I have with the phone is I definitely believe the battery released with it was simply too small, especially considering the power needed for the processor.

Let see....make a phone with a huge back for a battery that lasts twice as long, or use a normal size one that lasts fine with regular usage.....which one would you buy? Obviously you wouldn't buy the bulky one and even if you did you'd complain its too thick or big.

Battery technology just needs a breakthrough or something

You get no argument from me on that. The size is one of the best selling points to me. I've had no real problem with the battery with it. If I'm going somewhere, I just throw it on the car charger for good measure. Learning the settings and tinkering and getting decent life out of it overall.

I'm waiting to see the verdict of the Seidio 1750 since it fits behind the stock cover. Want to give it a month or so for people to start reporting back.

And there definitely needs to be some battery technology changing. Something to improve capacity and reduce size.

I agree 100%, I love the thin physical form of the phone. At some point battery technology will catch up, hopefully sooner than later.

The thing is folks, is that vendors like Seido have proven time and again that your battery doesn't have to be bigger, to have more oomph to it. It was a bad call on HTC's part.

On my Droid the display almost was a good 70% of the battery usage. Android system was like 15 or so...

so far on my incredible android system is about 44% and display is only 15%

this makes sense because on the moto Droid my battery would last forever if I wasn't using the phone. my Droid however still steadily drains even when I'm not using it. settings are all the same only real difference is sense and a bigger processor but my Droid was oc'd to 1ghz.
