4.0 on droid 1

i have a droid 1 with 2.1-update1 build number ese81 and i would like to put 4.0 on it i havent been able to root it when i try to install update from sd card (android 4.0 zip) it says aborted i also have another motherboard i can put in with 2.2.3 if that would make it easier

is it rooted? and what 4.0 file are you putting on it . its news to me that someone had a stable rom for the D1

update-cm-9.0.0-RC0-SHOLES-CDMA-KANG-signed.zip this is the file i was using and i havent rooted it i tried androot and it said it was rooted but i cant run su apps
