You have to turn 3g hotspot service through vzw. 2gbs is $20 and so on.

Can you explain further how to root and what it means, also what is the best app to use for free tethering? I am new to the Smartphone world. This is a new Droid2 I am just learning how to use.

read my links below ALL of it dont skip around and you will figure it all out...after you root and figure out what root is then you can download wireless tethering from the market for free and teether for days if you want

Keep in mind... rooting just to wifi tether for free is a personal decision, but might not be worth it to you, please read the links and do the research.

I had a problem with Barnacle creating a new wireless profile on my PC every single time it connected. I ditched it for Wireless Tether and haven't had the problem since.

Weird, I have had no problems with barnacle. I just hopped off banacle, was testing speeds and I get just over 1.5mb from speednet. :blackdroid: Srs thinking about canceling my home internet.
