3g and internet connection drop

I recently experienced no internet and no 3g signal in a good coverage area. It only came back after I restarted the phone.any idea why this happens or how to fix without restarting?

:welcome: to the forum! If it's all fine now and doesn't happen again, I wouldn't worry about it. If it keeps doing it I'd take it in to Verizon and reproduce the problem to get a new droid. Good luck

I have had that happen a few times on my Droid1. A reboot always fixes it.

this is becoming a well documented problem if you do an internet search. I have founf the easy fix for now is this:
after 3g disappears just go into settings, select battery management, toggle from performance to smart and the 3g will come back for a while.
