Sorry for this BS guys.

I know it's been covered probably a thousand times but I wanted to make sure I have up to date info.

Been away for a while dealing with a horrible situation at home.

Ear speaker went out and I need replacement phone. I have .217 with safestrap (not sure which version) and I believe I updated the radio. I have a phone on the way and I just wanted to get the low down on what I needed to do, from a software standpoint, to get the phone to a returnable state.

If someone could point me to a thread or something that could lay out the steps (for a virtual idiot), I would be most thankful.

Again, sorry for my stupidity.

1) use safestrap to boot back into your stock rom
2) use the safestrap app to uninstall the recovery, then delete the app
3) download rsd lite and the ics sbf file (I think hashcode has it at goo.im/devs/hashcode/maserati)
4) boot your phone into fastboot mode (power & vol down when booting up I believe)
5) flash the ics sbf

Note: for me, I've always needed to flash the ics update.zip after sbf'ing, so I recommend having that on your sdcard just in case

I think that all you need to do is this:

1- Boot to safestrap and switch to non-safe mode.
2- Let it start up and uninstall safestrap from within the app itself.
3- Reboot in fastboot (reboot and hold Vol+ and Vol- immediately while turning the phone on/rebooting). Go to Recovery and do a factory reset from there.

If you really want to make sure that everything is wiped, then use GigaJake's method.

Again, my appologies for my stupidity.

Will this unroot and reset original radio etc?

Do I have to unfreeze frozen apps?

Both of these methods will bring your stock side ROM to out-of-box, stock Verizon settings. You will not be rooted nor will your apps be frozen.

However, using the more complete method will eliminate all the files from internal memory. The shorter method (the one I posted) will still have leftover unused files from safestrap/custom ROMs.

So what would you recommend?

I really don't care either way. Just don't want to have to pay them $200 if they find out I was hacking.

Thanks again.

This is what you'll need:

If you have time, I recommend using GigaJake's method.

However, I just returned my phone and didn't SBF. I just uninstalled safestrap and used the stock recovery to do a factory reset. My safestrap backups were on my SD card and I wiped everything on the internal SD card before sending it back.

Ok. Kinda talking myself though this here.

So I flashed the 6.7.2-180_DR4-16_M2-37_1FF.xml file using RSD Lite while in AP fastboot.

It doesn't look like it wiped anything. I'm still showing an SU icon.

Any guidence would be appreciated greatly. Thanks guys.

Root checker shows no root access so it must have done something.

Does it make sense that homesceens and data have all remained intact after sbf?
