msg from iphone user (my brother who i love and we joke wit each other alot)

any way here goes: "Its sad a bunch of people r up waiting for an update....thats y iphone is better no waiting just hook up to itunes and done. Have your fun now buecause once veizon gets the iphone, iphone will officially take over from here"..

I was once annoyed by the "phone rivalries" now i find it amusing...mainly because we are not fanboys and we just have fun ragging each others phone.

4 mins until midnight on east coast

Nobody in this thread has that information.

does anyone know if it will be midnight est or what?

The conspiracy theorist in me says: "How do you know there isn't anyone in this thread that knows the exact time of 2.1's drop?"

On the other hand...you are right....probably...maybe...maybe not....I don't know.

Yes. Of course. I cannot say that. I can say, however, that the level of detail and certainty being tossed about in this and all the previous threads on this topic, is a good several notches back from knowing the minute the release will hit.

While I think Android might lose some people to the iPhone, I don't see a mass migration. Android is Open Development and most of us were attracted by that, and many other features of the OS.
Apple's restrictions on EVERYTHING in the iPhone keeps the idea of owning one out of people's minds.
