World mode android?

    Are there any android phones which take SIM cards? I'm trying to make a recommendation for a friend who does a lot of international travel and is looking to get her first "fancy phone".

    tmobile has the g1, mytouch, nexus 1 and im sure there are other

    and at&t has the backflip

    also do not let them get one of at&t's locked down android phones

    nexus one would probably be the best bet

    If you are looking for a phone on VZW or Sprint networks, then no. There is a rumor that Motorola will release a "World Phone" for VZW sometime near the end of the year.

    Agreed ... and as rkeller said, there aren't any VZW Android World Phones YET.
