Netflix and Hulu Plus are good options.

Netflix is really good, especially for TV shows.

A slingbox will do what you want, but has upfront costs associated with it.

Slingbox is great, I use it all the time. Fan of sports so it's great for that, and access to my DVR is awesome. Can take trips and still manage my shows and all that:hail:

Slingbox hooks up to your TV/DVR and it allows you to stream from it via the web using your PC browser or android app.

The "upfront fee" is purchasing the hardware itself. Once you buy the slingbox that's it, no monthly fees or anything. I personally bought mine used on CL and I got a really good deal for it. It's the slingbox Solo, but they have newer version/units out now.
