You do not have to be rooted to use it and its simple to install. Downlaod the file and make sure its named PG05IMG.zip (if you have windows 7 no need to put .zip on the end). Put the file on the root of your sdcard. Power off. Power on while holding volume down button. It will boot into hboot and it should do the rest for you. If you do not feel comfortable doing that then wait for the ota or call vzw with your complaints.
