We have some exciting news for Verizon Samsung Galaxy Nexus users. Verizon just announced that the Android 4.1/Jelly Bean (JRO03O) OTA update is inbound for the phone. It's only available via a WIFi update right now, so keep that in mind and turn your WiFi on before you rush to grab in manually. The update clocks in at 145MB and includes a number of improvements beyond just the amazing Jelly Bean goodness. Enjoy!

    Thanks for the tip, tgyberg!

What are the differences between this one and the one that was leaked a couple months ago? Is it worth it to go back?

Well at least now the JB ROM community should be improving features vastly. :) This is pretty awesome! I'm waiting for a warranty replacement Nexus right now though, until Monday. Figures! Oh well, I have been running JB ROMs since they started being first developed anyways.

SO I wonder if I should go back to stock, pull this update and then run tools to mod. Or why bother?

Now the timing of the update makes me wonder if they were deliberately waiting for the iPhone 5 to be released....

I wonder if it includes those "diagnostic tools" that were a part of the GS3 update :p

For those of you who are unrooted and were patiently waiting for Verizon to release Jelly Bean, welcome to the party!

I cannot download it yet. I wonder if the method to force update to 4.0.4 will work with this one?

Make sure Mobile Data is off

This is what worked for me. I tried several times to clear the Services Framework Data and force stop with no luck. Then I shut of my Mobile Data and still no love. Then I did all of the above and rebooted. That did the trick. Now running sweet Jelly Bean. Yum.

I went into settings-apps-all. Open Google services framework. Clear data and force stop. Then try to update. It took 4 times of doing this before mine went.

Running smooth as butter for a few hours now...
