Verizon has finally announced that they will support Samsung Pay! They are late to the game because they needed to evaluate hosting Samsung Pay on their network. Verizon has been the odd man out for the past few weeks as all other major US carriers jumped on board with Samsung Pay on launch day. Many Verizon subscribers were upset to find out that Verizon would not initially support Samsung Pay, and it appeared that they would drag their feet for months.

Some of you were able to use this unofficially through a modified apk. If giving your credit card info to an unofficial modified app is not your thing no worries Verizon has stated that official Samsung Pay support will come through a future update. Supported devices will include the Note 5, Galaxy S6 Edge+, Galaxy S6, and Galaxy S6 Edge. Both NFC and MST payment transactions will be supported. If you want to use this feature you will have to just give up root. Samsung Pay won't work if root is detected. Their is no word at a date for the update, but expect it in the near future.
