There have already been a few videos released proving that the LG G4 has been rooted. There has still been no root method released. The LG G3 was rooted pretty much as soon as it was released. Pretty soon after we had the BUMP method which was basically an unlocked bootloader which allowed us to install any rom or kernel we liked. I was kind of hoping for the same thing with the G4, but so far this has not been the case.
In an attempt to draw more security experts over to the device, and hopefully encourage anyone with the method to release it a Bounty has been started for the LG G4 root method. The Bounty for root is now more than $2000! It took nearly $20000 to get the S5 rooted by geohot. Hopefully Jcase or one of the other guys who have released proof of root will figure out a way to make this easy and safe for all of us!
