upgrading from wirefly?

so my family plan is eligible for a upgrade, and im the only smart phone user in the family but i am not the primary line. so when i choose four lines out it seems phone 1 and 2 is discounted? i dont quite understand why that is? in the options it says (individual account, family-primary. and family- other). i also recieved a private sale thunderbolty envelop. any clues?
