I've turned on the unlock pattern and in doing so, the default slider that puts the phone in silent mode is gone. I use that shortcut often. Any idea on how to retain the unlock pattern and have a easy shortcut to put my Droid in silent mode?

    thanks

I do not believe this is possible. You either have the slide to unlock screen with the silent slider or the pattern lock screen

I think this should work -- grab myLock Widget Lockscreen from the Market, and put a widget that will activate silent mode there. It'll add an extra step of having to hit the Back before entering your pattern, but it might be worth it to you, especially since you can also put other widgets, like music widgets, there, too.
