Unable to send email with cableone.net

    I just got a Droid 3 and I was hoping to keep my cableone.net email address. Cableone helped me set it up and I'm able to receive messages but not send. Cableone says its an issue that I need to talk to Verizon about and Verizon says its a cableone issue. It's using a pop server. Any suggestions other than changing my email address to gmail?

    You have to use smtpa rather than smtp on the outgoing server settings.

    Enter outgoing SMTP server settings as seen below
    • Smtpa.midco.net
    • Port 25 or 465 (try 25 first and if that does not work, then try 465)
    • Security Type SSL or TLS (if one does not work, try the other)
    Require sign-in should be checked
    • Username = full email address
    • Password

    Check your settings to see if this is how it is setup
