TTS not saying the street name

anyone notice this? I notice this recently when navigating, i am using IVONA TTS engine, would this be the problem? I really do not like the default engine, sounds like a drowning dying old woman...

Seems as though a recent update killed the street names for some folks. I am not sure if there is a fix outside of uninstalling the update.

I just had this problem too. I noticed yesterday that the street names were go. I just uninstalled the updates for maps under my apps in the play store, and the names came back

all I see under play store is open or uninstall for Maps Google inc.

if you hit uninstall, it does not uninstall the app, just the updates.

the OTA update fixed this for my case. The street names are now announced with latest google maps.

I guess I will wait for the ota update before I try an uninstall reinstall, I miss it enough that I was trying to find another navigation app that would do that and I do like to have one that tell what lane to be in to merge on to another highway. what is the best that does that and maybe tell you in advance of traffic issues Ed

4.04 update fixed it for me as well. Try the force ota update trick as described in the other threads.
