Be aware it requires factory resetting from within the OS and you will likely get soft reboots until you do. Also to root it requires the superoneclick 2.1 from the defy and droid2bootstrapper to get into recovery because it uses a newer version of clockwork recovery. Also edit the build.prop ro.build.id=VZW from what it says prior to get swype working.

Yup the d2 one is clockwork 2.5.0.8 instead of 2.5.0.7 like the dx uses and it works perfect. Correct if you don't use swype the build.prop edit won't affect you!

The text field you said in styles.xml worked perfect. I have one issue though, I use adw ex and it gives a more box in the menu on screen when you hit menu from the home screen that had adw settings and lock desktop. That text its still black do you know how to adjust that menu also?

Any idea what line needs to be edited for the text fields when you hit the menu button in an application? All mine in there are black also instead of white.

I'm pretty sure it's "Theme.ExpandedMenu" in values/styles.xml

Change 

<item name="itemTextAppearance">?textAppearanceLargeInverse</item>

to

<item name="itemTextAppearance">?textAppearanceLarge</item>

Yeah use the 2.3.340 full SBF. Or the 2.3.320 SBF and then the update.zips to get everything lined up back to 2.3.340 properly.
