Texting programs don't recognize my contacts

Ever since the 4. 3 update on my s4 my embedded texting program nor handcent recognize when I put in a contact to text I have to put in the user's phone number. If I start typing ANN for example I get several options of people to choose from except for someone named ANN.

Is anyone else having this issue or know how to solve it? Thank you.

Both Messaging and Handcent SMS work fine for me.

I had the same issue. I shut it off and pulled the battery for about a minute. Turned it back in and it worked.

... Doh! Did it, now it works, thanks. I had rebooted it and it didn't work this time I took the battery out started over. Thank you
