text app handcent on droid 2

    How can I stop my phone from using both text programs on incoming texts? I downloaded the handcent app but it always asks which program to use and I get double notifications. Thank you in advance.

    For notifications go in to the stock messaging app and go to settings and uncheck notifications. As for it asking which app to use there should be a default check box at the bottom of that selection screen. Check that box and use handcent.

    Thank you. No option is showing up under settings, but I unchecked the notifications, so hopefully that does the trick.
