Jcatt has posted a patch to test on 1.8.5 MIUI4D2 on this thread:

http://rootzwiki.com/showthread.php?t=1821&page=42&p=59478&viewfull=1#post59478

Don't flash this over any MIUI version other than 1.8.5! Versions after 1.8.5 already have the battery updates included.

If you want to try it and report results that could help...usual warnings, blah, blah, blah.

I installed it and had no issues, booted up normally, etc.

Next update will include a shot at battery life improvement:

From Framework: "power_profile.xml change added."

Go to 1.8.12 - current release. I've had ZERO connection losses on it, been on it since last night.

I just flashed the 1.8.12 over 1.8.5 and wiped dalvik. Everything is working fine but do you think it would be better to flash and wipe data as well? Like, who knows if the battery fix is working now because i flashed over 1.8.5

Ditto.

And if you flash this extended settings zip, it fixes the FCs when trying to change Toggle Settings from Full Page to Compact/customize.

I'm on 1.8.12 with the battery fix, and I got 13-14 hours on heavy use yesterday.

I get connectivity issues on 1.8.12 about twice a day. It goes out at some point, not sure when, and never comes back unless I do a reboot.

Yeah, I had to go back to CM7 due to disconnect issues on 1.8.12. :(

Hoping that the move to the GB kernel that Framework says is coming may help in this area, since it happens on the DX as well (also using the Froyo kernel w/MIUI).

I like both ROMs (CM7 and MIUI) and hope that CM7 will also pick up the 2-init GB kernel.

I know most people probably havnt expierenced this, but I flashed the battery fix on 1.8.5 and my phone just kept rebooting right when I got to the lockscreen. I couldn't get into the phone, and in the end I had to sbf. Pretty sure I diddnt do anything wrong either.

The battery patch is for 1.8.5 - if you flashed it on 1.8.12 that would cause boot loops...

Floobmonsrake - was just reminding folks in general since we've had a MIUI version update since i started this thread. Thanks for confirming you flashed over 1.8.5.
