I have a macbook and tried syncing ical with google calendars. Nothing worked - Googles online directions were totally ineffective, Apple support didn't know what to do. Google support wouldn't help. Verizon didn't know what to do.
The solution: BusyCal - Share Calendars on a LAN and sync with Google Calendar/ BusyCal with a 30 day free trial worked perfectly within 5 minutes.
Google should be ashamed of itself with the lack of an easy sync.:icon_evil:
