Even though this is half Apple news, the other half involves Samsung, and it's nothing but great news for them if it turns out to be true. According to the latest industry intel, Samsung is very likely going to become Apple's future primary supplier of Flexible OLEDs for the iPhone. Additionally, according to insider sources, Samsung has basically worked out a deal with Apple already. Samsung supposedly plans to invest $7.47 billion over the next two years into manufacturing just to be able to keep up with future iPhone demand.

To be sure, Samsung already planed to invest heavily into this area as they plan to become the leading manufacturer of AMOLED displays for themselves and other vendors; however, this report indicates this new investment volume is much higher than anticipated. If true, it would seem that Samsung is simply outpacing everyone to become the premier manufacturing partner of the planet for both mobile chipsets and mobile display tech.
