Samsung has been one of the leaders in AMOLED displays on their Galaxy lineup of phones for years. Other manufacturers like Moto have follow suit with the brighter more colorful displays, and Google has pretty much demanded AMOLED displays on their Nexus lineup as well. Other manufactures like Apple and LG are known for using LCD displays which tend to have more natural muted colors.

Now it seems like Apple will be making the upgrade to OLED displays. Reports suggest that Apple has ordered 70 million OLED displays from Samsung for their upcoming iPhone. Market researchers are suggesting that the initial order was 70 million units with the eventual order reaching 95 million units depending on demand. Who knows if these will be delegated to the rumored "special edition" device or the standard 7s and 7s Plus. The big question is will these oled displays produced by Samsung also be curved? Either way it seems that Samsung will be making quite a bit of money off its main competition!
