Fellow Droidians,

Can someone please let me know how I can re-install Froyo, from scratch, on my Incredible?

After the original Froyo push, I was having some problems, so I decided to reset the factory defaults (Settings > SD & Phone Storage), hoping Froyo would be pushed out a second time. No such luck.

Now my firmware remains 2.2, but the software applications (Flash, Google Earth, etc.) that were originally pushed, did not reinstall. I know I could just reinstall the apps, but to be honest, I am not sure what apps are missing; or which apps were part of the initial Froyo push.

I just want to re-install Froyo myself, without hoping HTC (?) will push it to my phone.

Thanks a lot. Sorry for the ramble. Kind-of a newbie.

I Saw your other thread ( http://www.droidforums.net/forum/dr...s/86446-145-views-but-no-help.html#post883504) and requested it be closed. It hasn't even been 24 hours since this thread was posted so there is no need to start a new one. Do feel free to just respond to your own post with a "bump" so it gets a greater chance of being seen though.

http://www.droidforums.net/forum/re...edible-wont-boot-properly-stays-fastboot.html has some instructions on downgrading but I don't know if that will help.

I will send the link of this thread to someone who owns an Inc and see if they can lend a hand if nobody else comes along. Good luck!

Rename this so that PB31IMG is the only thing left. Make sure SD card is formatted to fat32. Boot into Hboot and select yes when it asks you to update. Do not touch the phone while it updates. Wait until it asks you to reboot before you touch it. You will lose all data and apps. So it might be easier to just go back to the market and download what you want.

This is the RUU. Download it and run the .exe and then plug in phone. You will again still lose all apps and data. It will be if you just bought the phone.

Kendall,
Let us know if this helps. If it is confusing at all, just ask questions on any parts you don't understand and someone will lend a hand.

This file will only work if you have the stock recovery. Download this file and but on the root of your SD card. Rename to update.zip, if on windows just rename to update as the zip will be done for you.

http://dougpiston.com/ota/8e5ad8d6e...on_WWE_3.21.605.1_1.22.605.2_release_sign.zip

Now you flash it through recovery. This is how you get to recovery. Power off your device, then power it back up by pressing the vol+ and power button at the same time. When you see the big red triangle press vol+ and power on more time. This part lags a bit so you may have to press it a couple of times.

Once there select update.zip by pressing the power button. Your device will reboot a couple of times. DO NOT TOUCH IT. Wait until it is done. You can brick it if you pull the battery.
