Problem saving new contacts

After the OTA update i saved a number as a contact, recently i am unable to save any phone number into my contact list, my list says i have 416 (ive had my numbers for years)

i go to the phone, put the number in and hit new contact, i put in the name and hit done. it says contact saved, but the list still reads 416 and i cant search it or find it manually in the contact list.

any ideas why it would just decided to stop saving contacts?
Help please, just started a new job and need to save a lot of clients numbers!
