What is the difference between the dcim folder on my sd card and my internal phone storage. They both have all my pics on them. Not real sure if this is common as I am new to the bionic and I never noticed anything like it on my charge when I had it. I have the camera app set to save to sdcard.

Make sure you have Settings > Storage > Storage location = sdcard. And in Camera, go to options > settings > storage location = sdcard. You will still get thumbnails on internal memory dcim/.thumbnails, but your pictures will save to sdcard-ext/dcim/camera.
