Nexus - Some Pix Appear on PC, Most Don't

I'm running JB and I can see all my pix in Gallery and QuickPic. Problem is, only some appear when I try to view on my PC when connecting via USB or bluetooth.
Any ideas? I posted a similar request a month back on the Nexus forum but the few answers I got didn't help.
