Hi...
I purchased my TB 2 days ago coming from a D1 and was looking at the running services. There are several that I have no idea what they are for. Can anyone help with these? What can i stop and will do i want to let run?

HtcIntentService - Android System (process: com.android.settings:remote)
Sound set - SDMService (process: com.htc.sdm)
Sync Service - SyncService (process: com.fusionone.android.sync.service)
PVMtpServiceStart (process: com.pv.pvmtpservicestart)
HTC DM - HtcDMService (process: com.htc.android.omadm.service)
com.smithmicro.DM - DMServiceApp
PVWmdrmService (process: com.pv.wmdrmservice)

Thanks...Dalene

I believe people are still trying to figure stuff out. There has been some questions about different running services. All things in time.

I've seen no reason to stop anything on the TB yet...

Do yourself a big favor and don't worry about it. There is no reason to kill services or apps.

Enjoy your new phone and don't worry about things that are of no benefit in any way.

Agreed. If you really want the ski.ny in those services, you should ask those questions over at xda...

If you're not using the services then you can always root and freeze/rename them in order to keep them from running. Otherwise, don't worry much about it.

These are the two that are associated with the Blockbuster app. If you are rooted do as the previous poster said and freeze them with Titanium Backup to make sure they don't screw anything up and then later delete them. (Basically that is advice for anything you want to rid your TB of). For the BB app, I just deleted them. Now, if you are not rooted then you need to go into the BB app and disable the updates. They will eat your battery alive.

Thanks...when i go into BB, it wants me to update the app - it won't let me do anything else without answering yes to that. if i cancel, it closes the app without letting me change anything in settings about updates.

I'm not rooted - my droid was, haven't decided if i want to do that or not with the TB.

Go ahead and update it and then you can go into the settings and stop the automatic updating
