New Droid owner checking in

Hi all, just picked up a Motorola Droid yesterday and came here for info. I've had Blackberries for the last 6 years, and they've been okay, but I felt it was time for a change.

I'll be searching the forums, but first I'm looking to root this one so I can make it a wifi hotspot, then add a couple standard ringtones and a few other apps.

Any recommendations would be great.
