One of my kids is getting menacing texts. What is the best and quickest way to back them up on a PC. Thanks, One Pissed Dad.

You need an SMS backup app. Here is one and it's faq web page:

FAQs about SMS Backup & Restore - Android Stuff

Then you will probably need an xml to txt converter. I Googled xml to txt converter and got many hits for free versions.

    Good luck.

Might be a good idea to take pictures of the messages being displayed on the phone too.

If you were willing to root, you could also do "screenshots" of said messages...this way they would show the time & date stamps...:)

+1 on all the above posts.

You could also forward them to an e-mail address, but I don't know if that would keep the time/date stamps and the phone number.

Or take a real picture of the texts if you aren't rooted. I wouldn't completely trust those SMS backup programs. I've seen too many fails.
