Loose headphone input - how to fix?

Ive had my Note 2 for about 6 months and the headphone input is starting to get loose. My current headphones have the straight headphone jack, which any pressure to the sides causes the audio to cut in and out. I thought it was the headphone's wire breaking but have determined its the input.

Is the anyway to fix this before it gets worse?
Ive read about wedging plastic in between the headphone jack and the input to force the connection, but I fear that is only temporary and will only make it worse in the long run.
