vzw recently sent me a droidx after sending me 3 droid2s with loose screens. this phone seems to be very "laggy". answering a call, unlocking the phone never seems to work on first try. i went by the local vzw store and they basically said that i was an idiot and told me to start using taskpanel xtra. i did a little research in another thread and started using swiftkey which seems to be helping.

my questions is, does the droidx use some sort of different touch system than the droid2?

i have not rooted before, but seriously considering it be/c i need a functional phone and am really sick and tired of dealing with vzw

Who is the moron telling you to use a task manager? NOT needed, and it will cause more issues than it helps.

I am not sure what you had prior to getting the Droid 2, but the X is not laggy out of the box, and it really is not laggy unless you have an APP installed that is causing the lag.

You could ROOT, and freeze the bloat APP's (this helps with crap not loading into memory that you don't need or ever use).

You could install the leaked Gingerbread (many are stating it is fast and clean).

Or you could go back to factory and then one by one add your APP's to find what is causing the lag.

the idiot was the "device specialist" at the vzw store. she tried to install it and i said no thanks.

i'm about to toss this thing out the window. it is useless. my droid1 and droid2 functioned better. i'm just so damn sick of dealing with vzw
