Droid 1 probs

So, my old Droid 1 was working great. A friend now has it cuz i got the X. Now, suddenly it wont start up all the way. When powered up, it only will display the "M" logo. The logo, when keyboard closed and phone held in upright position, is to the left side of screen about a 3rd of the way and on the bottom, right hand side of screen, looks to be a row of pixels about a 3rd of the way toward center screen. Have tried to do a master reboot with power button and x button several times. just keep waiting to see the "yellow triangle" but it never shows up. Friend says it just started doing this with no damage done to phone......hmmmmm? Has anyone seen this and can they fix it or is phone going to an early grave? (verizon tech support couldnt help and phone is no longer under warranty)
