Is this how its supposed to be?

Everyone talks about great battery life and blah blah blah... I've had crap!
i wish i could get more than a few hours out of one charge.
but only 5 minutes in and i'm down 10% and 30 minutes in and i'm down 20%.
this is only after sending about 7 texts because i had just powered my phone back on...
the 30 minute one had been a few more texts, but nothing serious!
thats a little ridiculous.
PLEASE tell me what i should be doing.

might try a battery recalibration. run down to 15% power off charge to 100% then run down to 15 % and power off charge again . and if that does not work a factory reset. i have heard of this problem on lot of razr after updating to ICS .

I don't know if this will help you or not, but this is a thread I started about my experience battery life. These are just things I did on MY phone, everyone uses their phone differently and for different things. Maybe something in there will help you ... but "your mileage may vary"

Are you using the factory charger and cable??

Have you ever powered off and charged to 100%?

thanks! i have previously done a factory reset after i got ICS. but i dont know, its so frustrating!
i have to have a car charger, a house charger and one at work.

normally i don't charge when its off either, but i've been better about it. =]

See any similarities?? Look at our 4g....
We both get poor signals.. that eats battery quickly.

You don't have to turn it off to charge it EVERY time you charge it, but once in a while let it go from 100% to 15% and then power it off and charge it up to full. I read on here somewhere something about once every 40 or so charges ... keeps the battery and the meter calibrated.

i have gps, wifi, location, email sync, update, all of that turned off... the only thing i do is text and surf the web unless i manually update or sync or something.

you may also have a dead cell in battery . with all that stuff shut off you should not be draining that fast.. FoxKat may be more help . but it may be time for a trip to VZW
