I'm getting a droid x. Its a replacement to my droid 2 maybe. Can anyone tell me. I have a T9 keyboard for portrate use and want to automacally select the multi touch for landscape. Is their an app to do this or a hack? Same with a way to type in landscape mode temp with the phone being held in portrate?

Not that I'm aware of but, the market grows (largely) everyday so you never know.

Keyboard Manager, but you'll need root. Just google it and either use the XDA link or the Lifehacker one.

WOW. Very cool! Thanks. Now if there were an app that I could map to a HW key to disable screen rotation in landscape for typing in landscape mode when the phone is in portrait.

I think ultra keyboard will allow this and you don't have to be rooted...its free for 24 hrs so you could check its settings out and see if I am remembering correctly.

I tried Keyboard Manager. It works great. But it randomly stops without rebooting or the app crashing. Plus it doesn't start at boot.
