How to turn off auto- capitalization?

I can not stand auto-capitalization while texting. It is a pet peeve of mine, and I was wondering if anybody knows how to turn it off, cause for the life of me I can't find it. Is there an app that could turn it off or something? Your responses are much appreciated.
